New Engines Make The Colemill Panther A Better Choice

Lycoming TIO-540J2BThe Colemill Panther Navajo conversion has always been a great modification. But, it just got better.

Colemill has begun using Lycoming's new TIO-540J2B engines all of its Panther conversions. This is the engine with the dual independent magnetos. Each mag operates from its own drive shaft.

On older engines both mags were driven by the same shaft. So, if the shaft failed, both mags were lost. With dual independent magnetos this can't happen.

In addition to installing these J2B engines on all Panther conversions, Colemill also has an STC to install the engines by themselves on Chieftains. Either way, as part of the Panther package or as an "engines only" swap on Chieftains, the new J2B engines make your airplane safer and more reliable.

These 350 H.P. turbocharged engines come with a one year warranty on both parts and labor. They have a prorated warranty all the way up to their 1800 hour TBO. They're in stock and available now at Colemill.

But, these great new engines are just one of the many reasons the Colemill Panther Navajo is such an outstanding modification. Other features include:

All these things work together to make the Panther take off quicker, climb better to new heights, cruise faster, ride smoother and quieter, and land using less runway.

Those are a lot of advantages. And, every one of them comes with each Panther conversion Colemill performs.

If you own or fly a Navajo or Chieftain, call Colemill soon and find out all the facts about the Panther conversion.

Another reason so many people rely on Colemill is the fast service we offer. With a large shop and a large, experienced staff, Colemill gets work done on time. All parts for all modifications are kept in stock. So, there's never any waiting for parts to arrive.

An additional factor behind Colemill's success is that a Colemill conversion is much more than just an engines and props swap. During the conversion, Colemill's experienced aircraft modifiers do everything necessary to make sure your airplane is the best it can be. Rigging is checked. Controls are checked. Air leaks are sealed. Any adjustments that need to be made are made. In short, during the modification Colemill goes over your airplane from wing tip to wing tip and from nose to tail. If anything is found wrong, it's made right.

Once the work is completed, each Colemill conversion is flown from two to five hours by Douglas Colbert, Colemill's Director of Maintenance and son of Colemill President, Ernest Colbert. Douglas is very picky about Colemill's work. If the slightest thing is found wrong with an airplane during one of his flights, he taxis directly back to the shop where the problem is fixed under his supervision. Douglas makes sure that the pilots of converted airplanes don't experience any "surprises" on their way home. Other than fuel costs, there is no charge for this service.

Another reason so many pilots and aircraft owners choose Colemill for conversions is all the optional services that are available. For example, Colemill has a complete avionics shop. If your radios need work, we can handle it while your modification is being performed. If you want a whole new panel, Colemill can handle that too. We are an authorized dealer for all major brands of avionics. If you want a GPS, an autopilot, state-of-the-art NAV_COMS, the latest and most up-to-date avionics of any kind, they can be installed right here at Colemill during the modification process.

What about your paint and interior? If you need either or both, Colemill will be happy to hand that for your too.

Another thing people like about Colemill is that we don't ask for money "up front." The customer is billed only after all work is complete and the aircraft owner is totally satisfied.

With all the advantages Colemill offers, it's not surprising that this company has built an international reputation for quality, service and integrity. People know they can count on Colemill for quality products and work at a fair price. That's how Colemill has survived and thrived for more than half a century in an industry in which many other companies have disappeared from the scene.
